Lindy Cook Severns, award-winning representational landscape artist lives and paints on a historic ranch twenty miles outside tiny Fort Davis, Texas. A graduate of Texas Tech University (BA English and Biology)Lindy holds a 4th degree black belt in taekwondo, which she also taught. She's also studied krav maga and tai chi. Meanwhile, the artist copiloted a corporate jet alongside her captain husband for almost two decades; she attributes her renowned skies to spending so much time viewing the world from 41,000 feet. Lindy's mother taught her to draw before she started school. She later studied extensively under master pastelist Albert Handell. Lindy is a proud native Texan whose family roots predate the Texas Revolution, so the broad skies and vast landscapes of Far West Texas are in her blood. Lindy's oils and pastel paintings can be seen at Midland Gallery (Midland, Texas) and at Kiowa Gallery (Alpine, Texas).
